AN AMOL POTTERY SAUCER of shallow rounded form with a vertical rim on short foot, the interior incised through the white glaze to reveal the red body in the form of a lion rampant with elaborate scrolling arabesque tail, the whole covered with a clear glaze with central green dot, the rim glazed green, the exterior plain, 12th century (repaired, very slight restoration)
