AN AMOL SGRAFFIATTO AND GREEN AND MANGANESE GLAZED DISH of shallow conical form with slightly everted rim on short foot, the interior incised through the white slip to reveal the red body in the extremely stylised figure of a horse filled with scrolling motifs, outlined in green and highlighted with manganese dots, flanked by three similar smaller motifs, in a simple banded rim with manganese dots, the exterior plain, circa 12th century (repaired, very slight restoration) 8¼in. (21cm.) diam.
