AN EXTREMELY FINE NISHAPUR BLACK AND RED PAINTED CONICAL BOWL on short foot, the white interior painted with a band of inverted very fine black kufic calligraphy, small red-outlined panels of black dots on the interstices, a band of interlace around the centre, the rim with a narrow black lobed band, circa 10th century (repaired, one area of restoration)
