Seventy-two salt prints, sixty-two approx. 9½ x 12 in., the others approx. 4¼ x 6¾ in. to 6 x 9½ in., each titled in pencil on verso, two signed Robertson in the negatives. (72)
Provenance
These photographs were collected by Sir William Russell, 2nd. Bart., who was a Cornet in the 7th Hussars at this time.

Lot Essay

Although untrimmed and not joined, several photographs in this group form panoramic views of two or more prints in series. Crimean photographs by Robertson were exhibited at the Manchester Art Treasures Exhibition, 1857.
