A 20-BORE PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE with browned twist octagonal barrel rifled with eight shallow grooves, signed on the breech and with leaf sights, the underside stamped 'Cha.s Moores Notting Hill Forge Horse Stubs Only', case-hardened breech with platinum line and plug, case-hardened tang engraved with a trophy of arms, signed and engraved case-hardened detented lock, figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, engraved blued iron mounts including large trigger-guard decorated with a boar in a landscape and with pineapple finial, shaped silver escutcheon engraved with the crest and coronet of Elliot, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, cheek-piece, blued double set triggers, horn fore-end cap, original horn-tipped ramrod, blued sling swivels, and much original finish throughout, by Charles Moore, 77 St. James's Street, London, No. 1679, circa 1840
