Born in Naples at the end of the 19th century, Giovanni Pinotti Cipriani studied at the School of Fine Arts in Rome and was a pupil of Allouard. Later he moved to France and was subsequently naturalised. He exhibited heads and busts at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1903 onwards.
