Lot Essay

The hollowed corners with shelves and imbricated tablet and pilasters reflect the influence of a Louis XVI table desserte or commode servante; the husk-festooned frieze and walnut veneer in the Georgian/Adams manner, demonstrate the Anglo-French style of the last quarter of the 19th century.
