10 volumes, 8° (255 x 165mm). 543 hand-coloured lithographic plates by James Andrews and Worthington G. Smith, including 17 double-page or folding, numbered from 1-560. (Occasional spotting and soiling, a few text leaves with small marginal tears.) Non-uniform contemporary green cloth, gilt (vols. I-III shaken, extremities rubbed). Provenance: Frederick DuCane Godman (armorial bookplate).

A complete set of the first series of the Floral Magazine; a second series, also of ten volumes, was published under the editorship of H. Dombrain, F. W. Burbidge and R. Dean from 1872 to 1881. Nissen BBI 2353; Great Flower Books p. 84. (10)
