THE VIOLINIST of small size, after the original model by James Hadley and painted in pale-blue shot enamels, his hair en queue, holding the neck of a violin in his left hand and concentrating on winding the pegs with his right hand, standing against a small pile of books resting on a short gilt column, further books and a bow at his feet, on a gilt circular base (restoration to arms, neck of violin, left leg and back), puce printed marks, model number 1487, date code for 1930
