Dated by Raymond Lister to c. 1845 and identified as probably a view in Kent or nearly in Surrey. It can be compared, partially for the lack of foreground detail and the particular way in which white bodycolour is used to highlight the trees, to such works as Farm Buildings (R.Lister, Catalogue Raisonné of the Works of Samuel Palmer, 1988, no. 360, as of c. 1840), Near Underriver, Sevenoaks (Lister nos. 371 and 372, c. 1843) and At Redhill (Lister no. 434, 1848)
