Callcott's catalogue of his own paintings list two of this subject; one was painted for Sir Thomas Heathcote in 1817, and the other for Mr. Bennet in 1837. Callcott also did a small sketch of the subject (now lost) for Sir James Willoughby Gordon, husband of Turner's pupil Julia Bennet, in 1816, and there is a later finished watercolour in the Mellon collection.
