A George III mahogany longcase clock, the case with shaped panel to the plinth flanked by stop-chamfered angles, the trunk with fluted ¼ columns, shaped cross-banded door with original gilt escutcheon, the hood with detached fluted gilt-metal Corinthian columns supporting the swan-neck pediment with carved gilt-wood rosette terminals and verre eglomisé freize, the arched dial signed Thomas Barton Manchester on a silvered arc above the moon phase in the arch, silvered chapter ring with silvered matted centre having subsidiary seconds and calendar aperture, pierced black painted hands, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement
