A William & Mary walnut and marquetry longcase clock, the case with floral inlay to the plinth (later skirting) and to the rectangular trunk door with lenticle, concave throat moulding to the hood inlaid with similar marquetry and with ¾-coloumns to the front angles, pierced wood blind freize fret to the flat top, the 12in. sq. dial signed Luke Wise Reading on the silvered chapter-ring with pierced blued hands, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, decorated calendar aperture and ringed winding holes, foliate cherub-head spandrels with foliate border engraving, the five pillar movement with inside countwheel strike and anchor escapement
