Elaborate woodcut title-border with Diana at the head accompanied by the interlaced crescents and cipher of Henri II and Diane de Poiters (outer margin twice torn, once with loss to upper right corner of border), 7 double-page or folding woodcut plates, d1 folded to preserve woodcut map of Nimes on verso, 3 full-page and 6 smaller woodcut illustrations. (t2 with section of lower blank margin neatly excised.) Contemporary limp vellum (ties lacking, slight worming to front endpapers). Provenance: Hieronymous Paumgärtner (inscription on title recording the book's purchase in France in March 1661); Nuremburg City Library (duplicate, note in a 19th-century hand).
