THREE CARVED IVORY FIGURES

Comprising a group of two monks wrestling over a rosary, their brows knit below the bald crowns, standing together in long robes on a small oval base, 7½in. (19cm.) high, wood stand; a tall elegant figure possibly representing the God of Literature, holding an audience tablet in his hands, details of robe stained green, 10¾in. (27.5cm.) high, horn cap and wood stand; and a smaller seated figure of a dignitary with a tiered hat and dressed in elaborate robes with relief-carved decoration, seated in a horse-shoe-shaped chair, 6¾in.
