Corton-Charlemagne, Cuvée Francois de Salins--Vintage 1989
Hospices de Beaune. French-bottled: Joseph Drouhin
The Cuvée Francois de Salins, produced for the Hospices de Beaune from the 0.25 hectare holding of Corton-Charlemagne is amongst the most hotly-contested "piéces" at the annual Hospices auction, held on the third Sunday in November.
The critical factor with any Hospices burgundy is the choice of "négociant-éléveur" and it is certain that Drouhin will have ensured the production of superb Corton-Charlemagne in such and outstanding vintage.
This represents an excellent opportunity to purchase a top-quality Hospices white burgundy, at a price considerably lower than that at which it was originally purchased
