AN IMPORTANT MING FAHUA MEIPING, elegantly potted with rounded shoulders, slender waisted base and short narrow waisted neck, the body decorated in thread relief with a lotus flower beside a curling leaf between short aquatic weeds and a similar flower beside a feathery leaf, above breaking waves around the base and below a beaded necklace motif with ruyi-lappets suspending emblems around the shoulder, glazed white and turquoise on a rich dark blue ground (old body crack),

A similar example, but with a lappet collar around the shoulder, from the George Eumorfopoulos Collection, is illustrated in the Catalogue, vol.IV, pl.XXXV, exhibited at the Exhibition of Chinese Art, Conduit Street, 1938 and is now in the Baur Collection, Geneva, Catalogue, vol.II, A 152.
