Each made in five sections, a low stand with trellis-pattern ground and a key-fret border, supporting three boxes and a cover, all of equal size, finely carved with rectangular floral panels divided at the canted corners by a densely interlocking geometric motif, chips and minor cracks
both about 8in. (20.5cm.) high (2)

Lot Essay

The cover of each box is inscribed at the interior with the four characters xian hua bao he, which may be translated as: Precious Container for Auspicious Blossoms
