A VERY RARE LATE MING BLUE AND WHITE DUTCH-SILVER-SHAPED SALT
early 17th century
Of triangular section like the silver prototype, with three ball feet supporting the raised lower triangle applied at the centre with a central knopped dome intended in the Dutch silver original to support a small mythological standing figure, each corner with a cylindrical pillar supporting the triangle above the upper side of the top section modelled with a concave basin between three knop finials, all elements painted with leafy lotus scroll motifs, some restoration mostly to edges
