A TURQUOISE BLUE GLAZED COMPOSITION PECTORAL FRAGMENT, with detail and hieroglyphs in dark purple glaze, the obverse showing a goddess, wearing a baggy wig tied with a fillet, standing in a papyrus decorated sun barque holding her hands over a scarab (now missing), traces of another standing goddess opposite, the whole outlined with a ladder border, the reverse showing a similar scene but the underside of the scarab bearing eight lines and traces of a ninth from Spell 30B of the Book of the Dead, in which the heart is invoked not to bear witness against the deceased on the Day of Judgement, when his heart is weighed in the scales against the feather of Truth and Righteousness, attachment holes along the base, repaired, circa 1300 B.C., 4½ x 4in.
