Louis Montjoye, flourished 1747-89.

Of gros bleu sàevre porcelain in the form of a fluted cippus surmounted by an urn, this model known as a colonne à Pendule is related to designs by J.C. Delajosse in the Musée des Arts Decoratifs, Paris (see M. David Weill, Les Dessins de Delajosse, Paris, n.d. pl. 67)

A closely related clock with date letter for 1786 and with gilding by Chauvaux père et fils is discussed by F.J.B. Watson, Wallace Collection Catalogues, Furniture, London 1956, F 262

Related bronze models designed by Robert and Jean-Baptiste Osmond circa 1770 are illustrated in H. Ottomeyer & P. Proschel Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich 1988, p.194, 3.12.3, together with a more elaborate figurative model, also by Montjoye (p.245, fig. 4.6.4)
