AN ENGLISH PLUG BAYONET with slightly curved single-edged blade double-edged towards the point and struck with a king's head mark on each side, inlaid in copper on one side with a maker's mark, turned walnut grip (slight damage) with brass mounts (pommel missing), the quillons with warriors' head quillons, late 17th Century; and an English backsword with straight fullered single-edged blade double-edged towards the point, iron 'mortuary' hilt composed of slender scrolled bars above a solid shell chiselled with masks and foliage, and globular pommel (grip missing, rust patinated overall), circa 1640
