A CUP-HILT RAPIER in Spanish 17th Century style, with tapering blade of stiff diamond section, the guard comprising cup embossed with fleur-de-lys and with roped brim, vertically recurved quillons with S-shaped knuckle-guard, all spirally twisted, compressed gadrooned pommel, and spirally twisted wire-bound grip; another, the cup deeply decorated with panels of foliage, straight quillons, and fluted globular pommel; a German basket-hilted cavalry sword with later blade struck with a mark, guard of slender bars, side-rings filled with pierced plates (one plate missing), small downturned rear quillon, thumb-ring, fig-shaped pommel, and later wire-bound wooden grip, late 17th Century; and another, with half-basket hilt and unusual iron grip with central band of punched scalework (acid cleaned throughout), late 17th Century
