A HALBERD, of robust construction, with stiff spike of rectangular section, crescentic axe-blade with convex edge cusped at the back and pierced with a central trefoil and two groups of small circular holes, beak-shaped fluke, reinforced at the point, struck with a mark and with an upcurved spike on top, tapering socket of rectangular section with a brass rosette on each side, and four side-straps, on wooden staff, 16th Century, probably German or Swiss
