A LEADING STAFF with broad spear-blade (rusted) etched and gilt on each face with a monogram under a royal crown, moulded neck with crossbar, moulded socket, and wooden staff; another, of partisan shape (pitted) with triangular blade and basal side-wings, two side-straps, and wooden staff; another, similar (staff incomplete); another, with two pairs of claw-shaped basal wings, on wooden staff, all 17th Century; a spontoon with spear head, cross-bar, side-straps, and wooden staff; and three other leading staffs, all 18th Century; an Indian spear, the forked head with two waved tines each ending in a stiff point, riveted at the base between two chiselled monster's heads made in one with a tapering octagonal socket, on later wooden staff; and an Eastern(?) pronged spear, the head formed of two outward sloping tines of stiff diamond section, curving out at the bases into wide spikes, side spikes, and iron-mounted wooden staff, both 18th Century (11)
