A LOBSTER-TAILED POT, the one-piece hemispherical ribbed skull with separate pointed finial pierced with a hole, pointed fixed fall with turned edge, pierced for the moveable bar nasal held by a staple and wing screw, bluntly-pointed neck-guard of three upward-lapping lames, pierced single-plate cheek-pieces (one detached), domed rivets and turned edges throughout, the surface blackened overall (some rusting), second quarter of the 17th Century, probably German
