A PERCUSSION GUN converted from flintlock, with earlier two-stage Spanish barrel swamped at the muzzle, the octagonal breech inlaid with silver foliate decoration and the inscription 'Fabricado En Eibar Ao D 1808', and stamped with two gold-lined maker's stamps of Joseph Aguirre between three gold-lined fleur-de-lys marks (some gold missing), flat lock signed Oakes, walnut half-stock with chequered grip, engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with gold-lined maker's stamp (finial replaced), horn fore-end cap, and later ramrod, mid-19th Century; and another, with three-stage sighted barrel retaining traces of signature on the octagonal breech, platinum lines, signed engraved flat lock, later walnut half-stock, chequered grip, and engraved iron mounts (worn overall, ramrod missing), by Joseph Manton, London, No. 4512 for 1808
