A DUTCH FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS with two-stage barrel retaining traces of engraved foliate decoration at the octagonal breech and around the flared muzzle, signed bevelled lock engraved with foliage and with swing-out safety-steel, moulded walnut full stock (some worming, splits and chips), brass mounts cast and chased with foliage including pierced side-plate, crowned escutcheon, and butt-plate with grotesque mask (trigger-guard tang replaced), turned brass ramrod-pipes, iron sling swivels, and later ramrod, by J. De Pre of Maastricht, circa 1730; and a German percussion rifle, converted from flintlock, with swamped octagonal sighted barrel struck with brass-lined maker's stamp and signed 'J.C. Jelino. A. Heibach' on the top flat of the breech, bevelled lock, moulded walnut full stock (minor worming) with later peep-sight behind the barrel tang, cheek-piece, engraved brass mounts including side-plate with a boar beset by hounds, and trigger-guard (finial missing), brass-mounted patch-box cover, horn fore-end cap, set trigger, and horn-tipped ramrod (both in worn condition), early 18th Century
