A PAIR OF GERMAN GAUNTLETS from a black and white armour, each with flared pointed two-piece cuff struck inside with the Augsburg pearled A mark, the edge turned and roped, six metacarpal lames with transverse roped rib, and shaped lame over the bases of the fingers, thumb and finger plates riveted to leathers (one finger missing from right hand), a raised band with domed rivets encircles the cuff and extends into a wider band with incurved sides up the back of the hand, and original buff-leather lining gloves (damaged, surface rust overall, one hand-guard detached), Augsburg, late 16th Century
