A GERMAN CIRCULAR SHOT-PROOF SHIELD, of one piece of iron rough from the hammer, the edge decorated with cusped chamfering , struck with the Nuremberg mark, and bordered by a row of lining rivets with rosette washers (washers damaged, some rivets and brases missing, central spike replaced by an iron disc), early 17th Century; and another circular shield in 17th Century style, with turned roped edge, the front engraved with cusping and coats-of-arms in oval cartouches, central iron spike on brass rosette, red woollen lining (damaged), and brass-headed rivets throughout
