AN EXTREMELY RARE PIPE-CASED COLT 1849 MODEL POCKET PERCUSSION REVOLVER, No. 59826/. for 1853, decorated with Gustave Young style scroll and border engraving in 'style No. 2' on the barrel, lever, frame, hammer (wolf head), grip-strap, trigger-guard, wedge, and screws, with a small eagle head motif on the recoil shield, and another on the left side of the barrel lug, the 6in. barrel engraved 'Saml Colt' (in Old English script), the frame engraved 'Colts Patent', ivory grips, matching numbers, and virtually all its blued, case-hardened, and silvered finish: in contour formed case covered in tooled black leather lined in burgundy silk and velvet, with three compartments containing two leather boxes and an ivory box for nipples, and in excellent condition throughout
