An episode from the story of The Greedy Priest (see also lot 18). The God Siwa gave a bull to the priest Mpu Darmaswami. The priest has almost worked the bull to death and then sends his servants to cremate the bull. The servants do not realise that the bull is still alive, and when the pyre is lit the bull awakens and runs away (compare with lot 9). With Dutch inscription on the reverse: "Brandstapel met offerdier Bali, Badoeng".
