This fauteuil de bureau shares much in common with the oeuvre of François-Honoré-Georges Jacob and Georges Jacob, who employed the stamp 'Jacob D.R. Meslée' between 1803-13. A closely related dolphin fauteuil was sold anonymously at Couturier Nicolay, Paris, 27 March 1992, lot 161.
