An Imperial Yellow Bowl
Jiajing six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle and of the period (1522-1566)
The deep rounded sides rising to a flared rim covered inside and out in a glaze of soft yellow tone which pales slightly below the rim on the exterior and ends on the exterior at the foot rim to reveal the smooth white body, the transparent glaze on the base has a soft bluish tint
7¾in. (19.6cm.) diam.
