Three Unusual Glazed Figures of Luohan
Kangxi period (1662-1722)
Each shown standing in the same pose with right arm pendent atop a lotus base, and wearing similarly modeled robes glazed in different color combinations, their faces also identically modeled in a benign expression and their hair dressed in tight snail curls surrounding a rounded usnisa and glazed aubergine, one holding a stupa, another an alms bowl and the third a 'pearl', all in rich shades of green, yellow, deep aubergine and cream, each with a square aperture in the back
