A Large Famille Verte Rouleau Vase

Finely enameled with a continuous river scene showing an Imperial couple seated before a table of sweetmeats in a dragon boat, one court lady offering them a vase of flowers and others playing music, a small boy swinging from the stern and others watching from the shore, ten court ladies pulling the boat from the riverbank with iron-red ribbons, and two boatloads of courtiers preceding it on the water as others stand and observe, with panels of aquatic creatures reserved on a diaper band on the shoulder and leaf-shaped panels of insects reserved on a stippled pale green band scattered with flowers on the neck below groupings of antiques
