A Pair of Faux Bois Jardinières
Yongzheng seal mark, 19th century
Each tapering basin raised on three cloud feet with thin, molded borders painted in iron-red, the exterior painted in imitation of wood planters formed by vertical staves bound by two horizontal metal bands, the swirling pattern of the wood delicately painted in green, yellow, black and tones of iron red, the upper half of the interior glazed white, the remainder unglazed, with two drainage holes in the base
