The New Imperial motorcycle was produced in Birmingham and production started in 1903. Initially engines were made by Precision (Baker) and JAP. From 1926 onwards they produced their own engines. Racing was an important selling point for the model and during the 1930s many class wins were recorded by Ted Mellors in the 250cc class and Leo Davenport on the 350cc machines. Consistently the single cylinder New Imperials had the most success.

The 100 Clubman model was a limited production model based upon the Grand Prix racers and around 150 were built. We believe that only around 7 or 8 examples are known to the New Imperial Owners Association Club. This example is believed to have been restored by Richard Isles of Whittakers, Blackpool (date unknown). It has been described as in fair to good condition.
