The Silver Cloud of 1955 was the final development in a long line of six cylinder Rolls-Royce cars. It was a far cry from the small six cylinder car introduced in 1922 and in post-war terms represented a significant change from the Silver Dawn, its predecessor. It was significantly longer and sleeker and boasted 0-100mph acceleration in 50.6 seconds and a top speed of 106mph. The standard steel coachwork offered comfortable and sumptuous motoring. It had separate chassis and body construction the latter featuring aluminium boot lid, bonnet and doors. In 1959 the V8 engine was introduced in the new Silver Cloud II.

This car has covered less than 55,000 miles and is in very good condition. Its last MoT expired in April 1993, although it started on the button when we saw the car in January. It was acquired by its present owner in 1989 and the previous owner spent about (8,000 on restoration including a respray.
