The story of Dodge could only have happened in the swashbuckling pioneer days of American automobile manufacture. The Dodge brothers were machinists who moved on from bicycles to transmissions for Ransom E Olds. In 1903 they won a contract to make engines for Ford and accepted Ford stock in lieu of some payments. In the end the brothers made a fortune from the stock and also from the Dodge cars they introduced in 1914 in retaliation for Ford attempting to cut their componant prices. In 1920, the year that both brothers died, their excellent car was outsold in America only by the Model T Ford.
1924 was a year of change for Dodge. Appearance updates included a taller radiator and a higher hood line. Drum headlights were another styling feature.
This Dodge was manufactured at the factory in Canada and went to New Zealand. It came to England in 1969. It is in good, original condition and has a complete set of side screens. There is both the old style log book and V5 registration document and the last MoT expired in April 1992 although the car is still in running order.
