The success story of John and Horace Dodge was unparalleled. Beginning as machinists at the turn of the century, they quickly amassed a fortune through the manufacture of transmissions and engines that were supplied to Oldsmobile and Ford. By 1914 the Dodge brothers had produced a car bearing their own name. Their well designed, sturdy and inexpensive cars quickly became one of the best sellers in the US. In 1916 Dodge Brothers cars gained notoriety when General Pershing used one to chase Pancho Villa throughout much of Mexico!

The DD Six was introduced in 1930 and was an all-new second series with new features including a wider radiator and a V.V. (vision and ventilating) type windscreen.

This Dodge came to England from Rhodesia around the late 1960s and is in fairly good condition. Being a doctors coupe, it has a dickey seat upholstered with the same leatherette trim as the rest of the car. It has covered relatively few miles, and obviously the climate in Africa has preserved the bodywork. It has been in storage for a few years, but is in running order. It was last taxed in 1987.
