Lot Essay

The 1/12 scale drawing which Mackintosh made for the furniture at the Argyle Street Tea Rooms are among the finest of all of his surviving drawings for furniture. A similar drawing, showing a slightly earlier stage in the development of this design is in the Hunterian Art Gallery.
