Lot Essay

Mackintosh started work in 1901 on the interiors at 14 Kingsborough Gardens for Mrs Rowat, mother-in-law of Fra Newbery, Headmaster of the Glasgow School of Art. His alterations were confined primarily to the entrance hall, where the settle shown in this drawing was installed, and the first floor drawing room. [see previous lot]
