Lot Essay

Applied over a pure white pocelain body, the Qing dynasty celadon glazes are delicate and refined. For a similar example of this finely molded bowl, see R. Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol. II, London, 1994, pl. 855. For another example in the Victoria and Albert Museum, see W.B. Honey, The Ceramic Art of China and Other Countries of the Far East, London, 1945, pl. 118(a).
