A Tiger-Form Bronze Garment Hook
6th century BC, North or Northeast China
Cast as a tiger with head turned backwards and mouth open in a roar, the body striped with curved chevrons, with a hook projecting from the neck and a square button on the underside; together with two small bronze garment fittings, one a garment hook cast as a fleeing boar, Western Han dynasty, the hook extending from its rear haunches and with a large circular button on the reverse, the other a bronze fitting cast as a wild goat, 5th-6th century BC, the front legs bent as if kneeling, and with two attachment loops on the back
4 1/8, 2 1/2 and 1 1/8in. (10.5, 6.3 and 2.8cm.) long
