A Gilt-Decorated Guri Lacquer Bowl
Early Qing dynasty, 17th century
With rounded sides rising from the ring foot to the everted rim, the exterior deeply carved through multiple black and red layers to the buff or yellow ground with a pattern of ruyi scroll, the interior covered in red lacquer and finely painted in gold on a brown ground in the center with a medallion of a figure crossing a bridge in a river landscape, with a band of wavy gold lines at the rim
