A magnificent Spanish Renaissance diamond, gold and enamel bodice jewel
Of elongated quatrefoil form, the front applied with a stylised bow design in table-cut diamonds, with rose-cut diamond detail, the stones in rectangular, square or triangular settings and set against a slightly raised backplate enamelled in bright colours with scrolls, the pierced back with blue, white and green scrollwork around threaded red enamel studs, the rims with loops for sewn attachment, circa 1630, 11.5cm. high, in fitted case
