Lot Essay

This charming stone almost certainly comes from the Golconda mines of India as it shows all the characteristics associated with these very special diamonds. It has an innate purity and transparency that is not evident in other diamonds.
The best known mines were at Kollur in the southern part of the kingdom of Golconda. It was in this region that some of the most famous diamonds have been found, including the Koh-i-Noor, the Regent, and the Tavernier Blue.
