Each with a shaped rectangular plate in a pierced C-scroll and foliage frame, one surmounted by a fisherman, the other with a sportsman holding a gun and rabbit, with a tree and flowers to the sides, the apron ending in rockwork, one inscribed in pencil on the reverse '13' and with remains of chalk inscription '6314', the other with pencil inscription '12' twice, the plates either resilvered or replaced

The assymetrical frames are designed in the late George II 'picturesque' manner, and with their flower-festooned rustic pillars supporting figurative trophies of rural pursuits evoking Diana, goddess of the chase, they relate to the designs published in Thomas Johnson's Twelve Girandoles, 1755.
