A Napoleon III ormolu and porcelain-mounted striking mantel clock, circa 1870
The drum-shaped case with floral garland mounts and scrolls to the sides, with jewelled turquoise porcelain panels inset to the base, raised on toupie feet, the porcelain dial within a beaded bezel and also jewelled, with Roman chapters on gilt-bordered reserves and with flowers painted to the centre, gilt spade hands, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell and stamped for Japy Frères -- 10¾in. (27.5cm.) high
